Local Keller Williams Realty associates will take the day off Thursday, but instead of kicking back, they will be hard at work fixing up the local Cambridge House adult day care facility.
The 4th annual RED Day — standing for Renew, Energize and Donate — is a chance for associates to donate their time to a worthy project in their communities.
The Keller Williams Realty Atlanta Partners will spend the day at Cambridge House, a non-profit group providing personal care to adults with Alzheimer’s, dementia and other function disabilities. The house, the only program for such people in Coweta County, is located off Georgia Highway 154 near Highway 34 at Thomas Crossroads.
“It is a day of reaching out to our community to give back,” said Raquel Neal with the local Keller Williams branch. “We would love to have the community come and help us where we live.”
Associates will spend the day at Cambridge giving it a new facelift, complete with painting, new flooring, furniture, appliances and other items.
Anyone wishing to make donations to Cambridge House can drop them off at the Keller Williams office, 710 Newnan Crossing Bypass, or at Cambridge House before 10 a.m. Thursday.
Also, associates have “registered” Cambridge House with Target.
Go to http://target.com , then click on TargetLists in the upper right banner. In the search box, type in “Cambridge” (without quotes) in the field for first name, and “House” (without quotes) in the field for the last name. There is a list of items needed for the house.
“This event is an entrenched part of the Keller Williams Realty’s culture and displays the extraordinary effect a company can have when individuals come together to work as a team for the greater good of everyone,” said team leader/managing broker Julia Nelson.
“Last year, we were honored to assist the family of the late Chris Landreau by painting and installing hardwood flooring,” she added. “Chris, an eight-year veteran of the Coweta County Fire Department, was diagnosed with lymphoma in February in June of 2012. We can’t tell you what an impact it made on each of us personally to give back to the community we know and love.”
