The winners of The Newnan Times-Herald 2012 Christmas Photo contest have been announced.
First Place Winner – The Pure Excitement of Christmas Eve (left in the photo collage)
The joy of Christmas shines in the face of Graham Nathaniel Hamel. His father, David Hamel, took this picture on Christmas Eve 2011 at the home of Graham’s grandparents, Bobby and Debbie Graham, in Senoia.
“The rocking chair that he is sitting in was his Papaw’s (Bobby Graham Jr.) childhood rocking chair,” David Hamel said. “I took this photo as he had pure excitement in his face.”
Second Place Winner – Ho! Ho! Ho! (top right)
With the help of some bubble bath, Micah Prather, 3, looks a lot like St. Nick, who is scheduled to pay a visit to Micah and other Coweta youngsters Monday night.
The second place photo was taken by Justin Prather on Dec. 10 at the family’s home on Emmett Young Road.
Third Place Winner – Rudolph with Your Nose So Bright (bottom right)
Rudolph, also known as Carson Mundt, 3, gives new meaning to the term “sleigh.” He uses a green tractor to pull his Santa-like brother, Davis Mundt, 4 months.
The photograph was taken by Kristi Mundt on Dec. 10 at their home on Howard Hughes Road.
The first-place winner received $100, the second-place winner $50 and the third-place winner $25.
