Thomas Crossroads students bring warmth to citizens in need

From STAFF REPORTS education@newnan.com Thomas Crossroads Elementary School's Parent-Teacher Organization and students brought warmth and comfort this holiday season by making fleece blankets for the Welcome House, a Newnan shelter for battered women and children. Teachers, parents, and students came together to make a total of 27 blankets.
"We were overwhelmed by the response of donated material that we received from parents," said Laura Farmer, PTO president. "The PTO board was so proud that with the help of parents, teachers, and students we were able to make so many beautiful blankets for those in need this holiday season." "The Welcome House was thrilled to receive the blankets and appreciated the care that each student took in making them," PTO Vice President Tanya Hayes said.
