Canongate Cub Scouts help with food drive

Cub Scout Pack 55, chartered by Canongate Elementary School, helped with the recent Scouting for Food drive.

Non-perishable food items were gathered by members of the pack and their families. The food was delivered to the Coweta Community Food Pantry.

"Thank you for giving us this opportunity," commented by Jennifer Reid, one of the adult leaders with Pack 55.

"And thank you to all those that participated in this Food Drive," added Verna Funk, a longtime Coweta Scout volunteer who coordinated the countywide effort. "By collecting food, whatever money is collected through the One Roof store can help more people if they don't have to worry about buying food."

One Roof Ecumenical Alliance Outreach operates in the same facility as the food pantry. One Roof has a resale store which produces profits that can meet needs other than food for needy Cowetans.
