Rice named CSU alumni treasurer

Jenny L. Rich of Newnan has been installed as treasurer of the Clayton State Alumni Association.

The CSAA held officer installation ceremonies on Apr. 25 in Spivey Hall on the Clayton State University campus. The installation marked the first time the association conducted a separate standalone event to honor outgoing officers and recognize the incoming leaders.

Lanelle LaRue of Lake City was installed as president. She has twice previously served as president of the Clayton State Alumni Association and is also one of the charter members of the Clayton State Alumni Association, dating back to 1991.

Joining Rice and LaRue as officers are Larry Jordan of McDonough, vice president; and Marvin H. Bailey, Jr. of Stockbridge, secretary. Jordan, Bailey and Rice are new to their positions.

Rice is the budget manager for Southern Company Services. Since joining Georgia Power in 1991, she served in various roles, including assistant to the senior vice president of Metro Atlanta Regions and budget manager for customer service and marketing, before joining SCS in 2010.

Rice also served as the 2010 – 2011 board chair of the Club of Hearts, a Georgia non-profit corporation funded by contributions from Georgia Power and Southern Company employees in metro Atlanta.

Like all four of the new officers, Rice has a business degree from Clayton State. She also earned an MBA in economics from Georgia State University in 1997.

Rice is also a certified public accountant.
