7 honored as Presidential Scholars

Seven Newnan High School students were recognized by LaGrange College President Dan McAlexander at the institution’s recent Presidential Scholarship Day.

The event honors students who have demonstrated the highest levels of academic achievement and leadership.

Jillian Montgomery, Carly Duke, Jonathan Fleckenstein, Kyra Odum, Laura Bowen, Summer Vo and Savannah Thomley were among 2013 honorees, receiving certificates and personal congratulations from Dr. McAlexander.

A four-year liberal arts and sciences college affiliated with the United Methodist Church, LaGrange College is consistently ranked in the top 10 among Southern colleges by U.S.News & World Report.

The college, an award winner in sustainability, is the oldest private institution of higher learning in Georgia.
