Roberts headed to Cornell University for graduate school
Monet Roberts received a Bachelor of Science degree with high honors in biomedical engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology on May 3, 2014. This fall, she will be attending Cornell University’s graduate school to pursue a doctoral degree in biomedical engineering.
While at Georgia Tech, Roberts worked as a lab assistant in Dr. Manu Platt’s lab of repair, regeneration, and remodeling, where she researched the increased risk of cardiovascular disease in HIV patients. She has also written and co-authored several publications in the “Journal of Biomechanics;” “Annals of Biomedical Engineering;” and Georgia Tech’s undergraduate research journal, “The Tower.”
Shiske earns degree from U of Nebraska
Nanfwang Nehemiah Shikse of Newnan was among nearly 800 graduates who received degrees from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in an Aug. 16 ceremony at Pinnacle Bank Arena. Shikse received a bachelor of arts degree from the College of Arts and Sciences.
Harris enrolls at James Madison U
Newnan resident Danielle Harris has enrolled at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia for the fall 2014 semester. Harris plans to major in history.
White earns master’s from Troy U
Kason White of Fairburn graduated this summer from the Troy University's Global Campus division. The Global Campus consists of students taking classes online through eTROY or at teaching sites located around the U.S. and the world. White earned a master of science in human resource management. Troy is located in Alabama.
