Booth begins medical residency

Ashley Booth of Newnan recently began her residency after graduation from Mercer University School of Medicine this past spring. Booth is serving in Medicine—Pediatrics at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine.

Local students achieve academic excellence at GMC

The Fairburn campus of Georgia Military College recently announced that the following students from Coweta County have achieved academic distinction for the 2013 Fall 1 Quarter. Students who were named to the President’s List earned a 3.70 or above GPA. They are Steven Harbin, Abigail Howard, George Mahr, and Lacey Moore of Newnan; and Cassandra Denny of Sharpsburg. Students on the Dean’s List achieved between a 3.20 and a 3.69 GPA. They are Linda Ballard, Michaela Byrd, Christian Novoa, Marlen Rosales, Austin Schrepfer, and Taylor Scott of Newnan; Mayra Colindres of Palmetto; Justin Stoleson of Senoia; and Synthia Berry and Koty Smith of Sharpsburg

Newnan High School alumna graduates from Argosy University

Kimberly Denise Canty has graduated summa cum laude with a Doctorate of Education in Instructional Leadership K-12 from Argosy University, Atlanta. She is a University of West Georgia and Newnan High School graduate and is currently employed at Woodward Academy. Her parents are Rayford and Catherine Patterson.
