Tokheim graduates Magna Cum Laude

Britni L. Tokheim of Sharpsburg graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN. Tokheim earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration-marketing management.

Freeburg graduates from Piedmont

Joanna Louise Freeburg of Newnan was among the 216 students receiving degrees from Piedmont College in Demorest at the recent summer commencement ceremony. Freeburg earned a master of arts in teaching degree in early childhood education.

ABAC recognizes local students for academic achievement

Area students who achieved academic excellence in their course work during the summer term were recently recognized at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. ABAC cites its top academic students each semester on the the President’s List, Dean’s List, and the Distinguished Achievement List.

Allison F. Gordy of Sharpsburg earned a spot on the Dean’s List by attaining a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and carrying at least 12 hours of academic work.

Fayetteville residents Nolan M. Cash and Robert E. McBride, and Grantville resident John R. Reynolds were named to the Distinguished Achievement List for completing between six and 11 hours of academic work with a grade point average of 3.5 or higher. The purpose of this list is to recognize excellence and scholastic achievement among part-time students.
