East Coweta Middle School wins at TSA National Conference

East Coweta Middle School Technology Student Association (TSA) attended the Nat iona l Convent ion in Orlando, Fla., from June 27- July 2.

Five students attended the convention, with students receiving two major awards. Kayla Sims, Lauryn Jennings, Jordin Reed, Laine Futral and Morgan King competed in 10 events during the competition. Jordin Reed competed in Communication Challenge and received first place.

'It was a great learning experience and I had a lot of fun competing against my peers,' said student Jordin Reed. 'I also enjoyed getting to work with the other students in our TSA Chapter.'

'It was fun and interesting to meet new people from around the world,' said Lauryn Jennings. 'TSA has allowed me to make a lot of new friends.'

The ECMS TSA chapter also received Middle School Chapter of the year for the state, and Mrs. Blaire Booth, ECMS TSA adviser, received middle school chapter adviser of the year for the state. These are the first national TSA awards for East Coweta Middle School.
