Lee wins county Academic Bowl; Arnall first in regular region play

Lee Middle School won the Coweta County Middle School Academic Bowl Championship recently. In the closest meet in Coweta County Academic Bowl history, Lee Middle School edged out defending champion Madras 910-890 to claim the in-county title recently.

Arnall took home the third-place trophy with 860 points and East Coweta Middle placed fourth with 810 points. Evans finished fifth and host Smokey Road sixth at the meet.

The event was held at the end of the regular competition season. Fifteen regional Academic Bowl teams from Coweta, Carroll, Harris, Heard, Meriwether and Troup counties and Carrollton City competed during the regular 2012-13 season.

Coweta teams claimed the top three spots in West Georgia RESA regular-season competition for the year, with Arnall Middle finishing in first place, Madras finishing in second place and Lee finishing in third place.
