Sixteen projects created by Coweta County students were judged first-place winners in the recent West Georgia Technology Fair, qualifying for the State Technology Fair in March.
Students from Coweta, Heard, Harris and Carroll counties along with Carrollton City Schools submitted 168 projects for judging at the Centre for the Performing and Visual Arts in Newnan.
Arbor Springs, Atkinson, Ruth Hill, Thomas Crossroads and Willis Road elementary schools and East Coweta, Lee and Smokey Road middle schools participated in the event, and each Coweta school had at least one student in the top three spots. Carrollton High School will send 14 projects to the State Technology Fair and Bowdon High School two.
“We look forward to seeing more good work from these students, and we anticipate the 2014 West Georgia Technology Fair to include even more excited students,” Stuckey said.
