Coweta County centers offer activities

The Tommy Thompson Senior Center, 29 Hospital Road in Newnan, has activities weekdays, Monday through Friday. The center offers lunch for a small fee. For details contact Director Ida Johnson at 770-683-8600 or 683-8602. 

Morning and afternoon activities include such things as daily Koffee-Klatch, exercise, Wii games, crafts/classes, card games, pool games, line dancing and excursions.

Activities remaining this week for the Thompson Center are a blood pressure clinic and sing-a-long today with Mrs. Pearl; Thursday, craft day; Friday, Angels of Hope Bingo.

Activities next week at Thompson Center are: Monday, June 17, Father’s Day Celebration; Tuesday, June 18, Bible Study (Ensemble) Exercises and Bible Trivia; Wednesday, June 19, craft day; Thursday, June 20, ice cream sundaes; and Friday, June 21, Exercises and Family Affair with Tonya.

Coweta County’s other senior centers are at Welcome, Senoia and Panther Creek (on Ga. Highway 16, Sargent). They offer a variety of activities and from time to time organize covered-dish luncheons and birthday recognitions.

The Welcome community seniors (on Welcome Road near Western School) meet every Tuesday. Activities include card playing and crafts. Refreshments are provided.

Senoia area seniors meet at the center on Howard Road every Wednesday with such activities as bridge, cribbage and bingo. Refreshments are provided.

The Panther Creek center (near the fire station on Highway 16 West, Sargent) meets each Wednesday. Activities include such games as Bingo.
