• Cancer Support Group held its last meeting until fall on May 22. Group normally meets at First Baptist Church of Newnan, 15 W. Kidney Smart - Piedmont Newnan Hospital and a local dialysis group are working to raise education on kidney disease. Kidney Smart classes will be held at Piedmont Newnan Hospital, Poplar Road, one June 12 and another July 10, both at 4:30 p.m. The one-hour class is free and materials are sent home with the recipient, said Cassie Carson, a licensed practical nurse with Davita Dialysis of Newnan. All interested patients must go to www.kidneysmart.org under “classes near you” to register for any upcoming classes. Other classes are offered across Georgia for individuals that live farther.

Heart Healthy Class - Held last Tuesday of each month, 1 to 2:30 p.m., Piedmont Heart Institute, 20 Francis Way, Sharpsburg, third floor conference room. Register with cardiac rehab office, 678-854-2970.
