Blood drive part of Touch-A-Truck

Odyssey Charter School PTO is hosting a Touch-A-Truck event to be held at Ashley Park Mall in Newnan on Saturday, June 15 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. in the parking lot near Firehouse Subs.

There will also be an American Red Cross blood drive during the event. Donors will be entered in a drawing for a $100 Lizard Thicket Gift Card.

Sign up to donate at www.redcrossblood.org using sponsor code: Truck.

The Touch-A-Truck event is a chance for kids to get up close to — and touch — all of their favorite vehicles like city and county police cars and fire trucks, construction trucks, tow trucks, street sweepers, a 70-ton crane truck from Georgia Rigging, vehicles from Atlanta Motor Speedway, Southern Scapes Landscaping, Joe Crain Oil, Peterbilt, and many more.

The PTO has even got a replica of the Batmobile and the Scooby Doo Mystery Machine, said PTO member Jennifer Petrino.

County, city and military vehicles are free to touch, admission for all others is $3 per person, or $2 with a non-perishable food item for the Coweta Community Food Pantry.

Children 2 and under will be admitted free.

All proceeds will benefit the Odyssey School, a free public charter school for grades K-8 located in Newnan. For more information about Odyssey, go to www.odysseycharterschool.net.
