• SOUTHSIDE THEATRE announces auditions for ‘All Shook Up’

Southside Theatre Guild in Fairburn has announced auditions for “All Shook Up,” which is inspired by and features the songs of Elvis Presley.

Loosely based on Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night,” “All Shook Up” tells the story of a small-town girl (with big dreams), from somewhere in the middle of a square state … in the middle of a square decade … and the motorcycle-riding stud she falls for.

The story takes place during a 24-hour period in the summer of 1955 in a small, you-never-heard-of-it town somewhere in the Midwest.

Auditions will be held at Southside Theatre Guild at 20 West Campbellton St. in Fairburn. Audition dates are Monday, May 20 at 7 p.m. (6:30 sign-in) and Tuesday, May 21 at 7 p.m. (6:30 sign-in).

Callback date (and general auditions for those who couldn’t make either of the previous audition dates) is  Wednesday, May 22 at 7 p.m., 6:30 (re)sign-in.

Those who cannot make it to auditions but still wish to audition may submit an audition using YouTube. For more information, contact Jared at stgec75@gmail.com .

Auditions will consist of music (those auditioning are asked to bring a prepared piece/CD pref.; no vocals on CD please), choreography (wear comfortable clothes/shoes) and cold readings.

Performances will be Thursday-Sunday, July 11, 12, 13, 14; Friday-Sunday, July 19, 20, 21; and  Friday-Sunday, July 26, 27 and 28. Thursday through Saturday performances are at 8 p.m., and Sunday matinees are at 2:30 p.m.
