Suzanne Caldwell won first place in pastels at the NCAA’s spring show.

“A celebration of spring” was the theme of the Newnan-Coweta Art Association’s Spring Show and Sale, held Saturday on the Court Square in downtown Newnan.

It was a beautiful spring day for the show, one of NCAA’s biggest events.

Jennifer Wallace and son Rex enjoyed the event.

At JoPat Designs’ booth, Rex was fascinated by the various beads and other items.

“It’s wonderful to have events like this in Newnan — to be able to walk around and bring your little ones,” Jennifer said.

JoPat is JoAnn Lewis and Pat Vidal. They are just getting into jewelry and showing.

“We’re enjoying ourselves,” Lewis said.

It was Phil Witz’s first art show. “It was fun,” he said. Witz will be heading to New Jersey to start art school in September.

Young artist Sarah Fitzhenry didn’t know the show was going on Saturday. She and Susan Goodwin were in town to go to the Corner Arts Gallery when they saw people gathered downtown. Fitzhenry had a few paintings in her car so she took them with her to talk to other artists. “I’m trying to get out there,” she said.
