Central Library Friends officers elected

by Staff Reports

New officers were recently elected at the annual meeting of the Central Library Friends held April 9 in the meeting room of Coweta Public Library System’s Central Library.

When the votes were tallied, Marcy Ford was elected president of the group while Dawn Hinds was chosen to serve as vice-president. Cheryie Baxter was voted into the treasurer spot and Jackie Fuller was chosen to serve as secretary.

The role of a friends group includes supporting the library, influencing decision makers to support the library, creating awareness of the value of libraries and planning fundraising activities for the library.

Membership is open to all citizens.

Anyone who is interested in supporting the library while having a really fun time is invited to pick up an application at the library or show up at the next meeting on May 7 at 6:45 p.m. As always, the Central Library Friends meet in the library meeting room. For further information, call library system director Jimmy Bass at 770-683-2052.
