• Summit Family YMCA is removing the joining and reactivation fees in January. All members can participate in The Coach Approach Program. At no additional charge, members are paired with a YMCA personal wellness coach. The membership desk at Summit Y on Highway 34 East, Newnan, is open weekdays and Saturday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday from noon-5 p.m. Tours are available.

• Run for Angels 5k/10k & Chicken Q — On Feb. 1, the 12th annual event will raise funds for Angel’s House. On-site registration begins at 7 a.m. on Greenville Street, between Salbide Avenue and Savannah Street. Details: www.active.com or www.theangelshouse.org.

• American Red Cross Blood Drive in Senoia — The Optimist Club of Senoia will sponsor a blood drive for the Senoia area Feb. 3. Drive will be held in the Fellowship Hall of Senoia United Methodist Church from 1 until 6 p.m.

• Yard sale donations — The 2014 Coweta County employees Relay for Life team is planning a yard sale and taking donations of items. The event each spring raises funds for the American Cancer Society. The yard sale will be held Saturday, March 1, from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Asa Powell Expo Center, 197 Temple Avenue in Newnan.

• Blood Drives — Piedmont Newnan Hospital and the American Red Cross will host blood drives at Piedmont Newnan Hospital on March 7, May 2 and July 11.
