Rock-A-Thon rescheduled for Aug. 31

The Cambridge House Rock-A-Thon originally scheduled for Aug. 17 was rescheduled due to weather conditions. The event will now occur on Aug. 31 from 6 to 10 p.m.

The Cambridge House of Newnan is taking action to fight Alzheimer's Disease with a "Rock-A-Thon" to raise funds for the "Walk to End Alzheimer's."

You can take action by saying yes and coming out to Rock with Cambridge House in support of the Alzheimer's Walk, said Mary Ann Neureiter, gerontologist executive director of Cambridge House Adult Respite Care. Cambridge House is on Highway 154 just south of Highway 34 East near Thomas Crossroads.

Bring your own rocking chair and sponsor sheet with a minimum of $10 in sponsorship to participate. Sponsored funds will be collected the night of the fundraiser. There will be prizes for first, second and third place for non-stop rockers. Entertainment will be provided by All Around Karaoke.

Participants are welcome to bring their own activities such as games, reading materials and electronic devices. Light refreshments and bottled water will be provided.

Contact Jada or Mary Ann at 678-423-8700 for sponsor sheets and details. Loaner rockers will be provided if requested before event. Join the Cambridge House Team at act.alz.org/newnan .
