Newnan Utilities has opened a satellite office at 315 Millard Farmer Industrial Boulevard. Customers can pay bills, set up new service or transfer service.

Newnan Utilities has opened a full-service customer service center on the Hwy. 34 Bypass/ Millard Farmer Industrial Boulevard.

The Wahoo Customer Service Center is located at 315 Millard Farmer Industrial Boulevard, in the Wahoo complex across from Hillwood Circle.

Customers can pay bills, set up new accounts, transfer services and conduct other business transactions at the new facility, which includes a drive-through and payment drop box.

Customers can do “everything they can do at the other office,” said Lead Customer Service Representative Lisa Maddox.

The new office opened on Tuesday.

Hours are 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Several years ago, in an annual survey, Newnan Utilities asked customers if they would be interested in a satellite office on the Hwy. 34 Bypass, said General Manager Dennis McEntire.

“The response was overwhelmingly positive,” he said. That was during the early stages of remodeling the Wahoo facility, so the new office was added to the design. Since 2010, Newnan Utilities has been operating its engineering, utilities services and construction departments out of the facility, which is adjacent to the Wahoo Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant.

“We chose to wait until the Hwy. 34 Bypass construction was completed before opening the customer service center,” McEntire said.

A grand opening ceremony will be held Aug. 9 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Customers will be invited to enjoy food and games, including the opportunity to win an iPad.
