Realtors join Great Home Giveaway

Realtors Susan Annis and Ernie Johnson are two of hundreds of real estate agents across the country who have invested in “The Great Home Giveaway,” allowing Atlanta area home buyers to enter to win one of 16 $10,000 down payments, and one grand prize of $100,000 toward a home.

The contest kicked off June 11, and runs through Jan. 31, 2015. The $10,000 down payments will be given away every two weeks until the end of December. The grand prize winner will be announced in early February, 2015.

United Community Bank raises money for charities

United Community Bank’s 20th annual production of “The Bankers Hour” raised $23,400 to benefit organizations in the areas that United Community Bank Serves.

Local recipients were Coweta Welcome House and Fayette Samaritans.

Bank employees recently entertained more than 6,000 customers and friends at the live production. Money from the event has always been given to charities in the markets served by the bank. This year’s proceeds will be equally distributed to the communities the bank serves in Georgia, western North Carolina, and eastern Tennessee.

Allstate looking to expand in Georgia

Allstate Insurance Company is planning to appoint more than 152 new agents in Georgia over the next year. Allstate is looking for 38 agency owners, and 114 licensed sales producers.

“Georgia’s strong economy is fueling this expansion plan. We target cities and areas that show growth and increasing demand as a part of Allstate’s broader strategy to expand our presence in Georgia,” said Kelly Wendt, Allstate’s Southeast Region strategic deployment leader. “We are aggressively targeting qualified professionals. If they don't have an insurance background, we'll provide them with comprehensive education and the resources to help them get off to a solid start.”

Allstate is offering $5,000 to the person who refers a successful agency owner candidate to Allstate.

Prancing Penny’s joins Pet Sitters International

Prancing Penny’s Pet Sitting, which provides services in Coweta, Carroll, Douglas and Paulding counties, has been accepted for membership in Pet Sitters International, an organization of more than 7,000 independent professional pet sitting services throughout the United States, Canada and abroad. Founded in 1994, PSI is the world’s largest educational association for professional pet sitters.

PSI offers members access to bonding and liability insurance and educational resources such as PSI’s Certification Program and annual Quest convention.
