David Barksdale has been promoted to chief operating officer. Barksdale will oversee all construction operations for the firm’s four offices, located in Atlanta, West Point, Tampa and Jacksonville. Barksdale has served as the senior vice president and general manager of the Atlanta office since January 2011.

Kevin Appleton, Curt Rigney and Dave Schoendorf have been named strategic vice presidents. They are responsible for strategic planning, business development and all construction operations essential to the growth of their respective units.

Appleton oversees all healthcare construction. He is a Certified Healthcare Constructor and a LEED Accredited Professional.

Rigney is responsible for private commercial development projects and is currently leading the successful SkyHouse program, which includes $661 million in new high-rise multi-family construction across the South.

Schoendorf will focus on private development projects. He joined Batson-Cook last year after 24 years at a competing firm, where he served as a senior vice president.
