La Fuente grocery store on Temple Avenue has closed.

Badcock opening on Bullsboro

Badcock furniture store is opening a location in the Kroger-anchored Merchants Crossing Shopping Center on Bullsboro Drive at Greison Trail, in the former Hastings book and music store location.

Corporate officials could not be reached for comment regarding an opening date or whether the existing store on Temple Avenue would close or remain open.

Kroger customers contribute to "Can Hunger"

Kroger's Atlanta Division customers, in Georgia, Eastern Tennessee, Alabama and South Carolina, contributed more than $642,700 to Kroger's 2013 Can Hunger Campaign.

From Nov. 17 through Dec. 24, Kroger customers supported the annual campaign by purchasing $1, $3, and $5 icons. Each icon purchase benefitted Feeding America food banks, helping to provide families in need with approximately meals. The division's goal for the campaign was $500,000.

"We are extremely grateful to all of our customers and associates who generously contributed to the Can Hunger campaign," said Glynn Jenkins, director of communications and public relations for Kroger's Atlanta Division. "Every donation goes a long way toward helping our friends and neighbors in the communities we serve."

Ribbon cutting set for United Way office

A ribbon cutting for the new United Way Coweta office will be held Jan. 14 at noon. The new office is located in the 75 Jackson Street complex, at suite 400.

Kia names executive level appointments

At Kia Motors Manufacturing Corporation in West Point, Randy Jackson has been named senior vice president of HR and administration, and Stuart Countess has been named vice president of the quality subdivision.

At Kia Motors America, the marketing and distribution arm of Kia Motors Corporation, Tim Chaney has been promoted to vice president of marketing communications, and Orth Hedrick is now vice president of product planning.

“Following a year which saw the arrival of seven all new or significantly redesigned vehicles — including updated versions of the… Optima and Sorento — Randy, Stuart, Tim and Orth have and will continue to play important roles in the growth and maturation of the Kia brand and their promotions are well-deserved,” said Byung Mo Ahn, group president and CEO of KMA and KMMG.

Regions offering online appointments

Regions Bank customers and prospective customers can now make appointments to speak with banking specialists in Regions Bank branches or by phone. The appointments allow customers to have access to banking specialists at the time and place most convenient for them.

Wells Fargo announces Voices and Vibes Festival at the Woodruff Arts Center

The Wells Fargo ArtsVibe Teen program has announced the second annual Voices and Vibes Festival, a free event to be held Saturday, May 10 at the Woodruff Arts Center in Atlanta.

The festival will celebrate teens who are engaged in the Atlanta artistic community by providing them with an opportunity to perform, partake in workshops, and participate in exciting activities. The Voices & Vibes Festival is produced by the Wells Fargo ArtsVibe Teen Program, with support from a collaboration by the four divisions of the Woodruff Arts Center — The Alliance Theatre, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, High Museum of Art, and Young Audiences.
