Coweta's Banks named Team Member of the Year

by Sarah Fay Campbell

Cowetan Stephanie Banks has been presented with the LongHorn Steakhouse Team Member of the Year Award.

Banks is a 19-year employee of LongHorn and is a bartender at the East Point location. She is one of only four LongHorn team members selected for the award this year, out of more than 28,000 employees at 430 restaurants.

The annual award recognizes LongHorn team members who demonstrate outstanding results and who embody LongHorn's core values, such as treating everyone with dignity, respect, honesty and integrity, and living the brand's culture every day in their restaurant.

“Stephanie is a phenomenal employee and extremely deserving of the Team Member of the Year award,” said Kevin Brake, Managing Partner of the LongHorn Steakhouse in East Point. “Guests come into our restaurant every day to see her. This loyalty is a true testament to the quality of service she provides to her team and guests.”

"She lives our core values every single day that she comes to work," said Brake. "She is always willing to lend a hand to a fellow teammate. If someone needs something she never says no," he said. "She goes beyond the call of duty to take care of not only her guests behind the bar but also the employees in the restaurant, including the manager. It's just her passion for what she does," he said. "She just does a fantastic job."

"Stephanie is a terrific example of a team member who goes above and beyond for her team and for our guests, and we’re pleased to recognize her with LongHorn’s Team Member of the Year award,” said John Alexander, Regional Vice President for LongHorn Steakhouse. “She embodies our core values and has played a key role in helping the East Point LongHorn be a top performing restaurant where guests can count on receiving a delicious meal and warm, friendly service.

"I'm very honored and a little overwhelmed," Banks said. "It's very exciting."

Banks, a Fayette County native who now lives in Grantville, started with LongHorn as a server at the location on 1941. "I just wanted to work there. It seemed like a great place to work," she said.

"I enjoy taking care of our guests," Banks said. "I just really enjoy doing what I do."
