Brazie named Outstanding Recent Graduate

Samantha Brazie will be honored with Clayton State University's Outstanding Recent Graduate Award at a dinner Sept. 26.

The award recognizes a recent graduate whose accomplishments are of such excellence that they provide inspiration and leadership to students and other alumni, according to John Shiffert, director of university relations.

Brazie has shown significant leadership in her career, in both the community and public services, said Shiffert. Through her involvement with the Newnan-Coweta Chamber of Commerce, "she has single-handedly promoted Progressive Heating and Air to a level where they are a local 'household name,'" he said.

Brazie is also president of the Newnan Networkers BNI, chairman of the Navarre Christmas Parade and vice chair of the Community Welcome House board of directors. Brazie also chairs several fundraisers for the American Cancer Society and is involved in other charity events in Coweta.

Brazie's award is one of three that will be presented. The others are the Distinguished Alumnus Award and the Exceptional Future Alumnus Award.
