Brixx Wood Fired Pizza expands into Georgia

Brixx Wood Fired Pizza will open a 3,223-square-foot location in The Avenue Peachtree City on Sept. 16.

Brixx appeals to a wide array of palates and dietary needs, offering gluten-free dough, vegetarian and vegan items. The restaurant bar features 24 beers on tap, including a selection of craft and local microbrews, 14 wines by the glass and gluten-free bottled beer.

The Brixx opening will culminate in a ticketed fundraising event from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sept. 16. Brixx is asking for a donation of $25 per ticket to HEROBOX.org, a national charity based in Tyrone that provides care packages and support for deployed members of the armed forces. 

A ticket allows guests to enjoy complimentary samples of Brixx food, as well as craft beer and wine during the event. Brixx will give 100 percent of the donations raised through ticket sales to HEROBOX. The Peachtree City location is the first Brixx franchise location in Georgia. Brixx Wood Fired Pizza is owned by New South Pizza Inc. There are 21 Brixx locations in N.C., S.C., Tenn. and Va. The first Brixx opened in Charlotte, N.C., in 1998

Small business expert to speak at Coweta Fayette Rotary Monday

Lydia Jones, district director for the Small Business Development Center, will be speaking to the Coweta Fayette Rotary Club Monday at 6:30 p.m. at the Senoia Coffee and Café in downtown Senoia.

Jones is the senior public service associate with the University of Georgia and serves as the district director for the Georgia Small Business Development Centers. Her leadership supports consulting and educational activities of a large team of Small Business Development Center professionals, and facilitates innovation throughout metro Atlanta and north Georgia on behalf of small business communities.

Jones' previous work experience includes upper management and executive-level functions in several mid-sized businesses, as well as business ownership and service on corporate boards.

In addition to general core competencies in numerous areas of business operations, Jones specializes in funding assistance through both traditional lending and equity. She has assisted with the preparation of almost $100 million in loan and equity packaging in her time with the Georgia SBDC. She presents to national conferences and serves on national committees and on advisory boards for local banks and Certified Development Companies.
