Facing a pair of No. 1 state-ranked McIntosh lineups in hostile territory, the Northgate soccer teams dropped a pair of Area 4-AAAAA matches on Tuesday in Peachtree City.
Katie Salha converted a free kick for the Lady Vikings but it wasn't enough in a 3-1 loss to the undefeated Lady Chiefs, who improved to 4-0-1 on the season following a Class AAAA championship in 2012. McIntosh's girls took a 2-0 lead into halftime on a pair of goals by junior Amanda Bartholomew, the first coming off a successful penalty kick.
Northgate's girls, who were coming off back-to-back 10-0 blowout wins over Creekside and Forest Park, dropped to 3-1-1 overall and 2-1 in area play.
The Vikings took McIntosh's No. 1-ranked boys team scoreless into halftime before the Chiefs erupted for seven unanswered goals in a 7-0 victory.
Northgate's boys also fell to 2-1 in 4-AAAAA and 2-2 overall.
The Vikings were coming off area wins over Creekside (5-0) and Forest Park (3-1) last week.
