Temperatures returned to spring-like conditions Saturday just in time for the start of the 49th year of play in the Newnan Youth Athletic League baseball season.
T-ball, 6-under and 8-under leagues began play at the Hospital Road/Temple Road Complex. The NYAA held its annual preseason "Pep Rally" on Friday at the Max Bass Athletic Complex which included a parade of teams and coaches. 
The 6-under Marlins, coached by Walt Sholar, and Giants, coached by Keith Knowles, were among teams opening play on Saturday. All teams also posed for pictures on Saturday.
