The Heritage School track teams host their second home meet of the season with today’’s March Classic after each posted top-five finishes twice in the past week.
Last Saturday at the inaugural Hawks Invitational, Heritage School's boys placed second and the girls took fifth. Each lineup then followed those efforts with a second-place finish for the Lady Hawks and a third-place effort for Heritage School's boys at Tuesday’s Mill Springs meet.
Competing against nine schools on Tuesday at Mill Springs in Alpharetta, the girls finished with 105 points, led by Chase Parker’s three victories as well as a pair of top-two efforts from long-distance specialist Aleisha Khan.
Parker dominated in both hurdles events, winning the 100s in 17.10 and the 300 low’s in 47.58 by almost a full 10 seconds. In addition to also taking first in the 200, she was equally strong in field events, finishing second in the discus and fourth in the shot.
Parker and Kahn also made up one-half of Heritage’s winning 1,600-meter relay team with Mackenzie York and Julie Thames.
Khan, meanwhile, won the 800 in 2:52.59 and placed second in the 1,600, while York turned in a two-second victory in the 400 for Heritage School and finished right behind Parker in the 100 hurdles.
Thames also scored individually with a sixth-place finish in the 200.

Tuesday’s boys meet also saw a pair of Hawks score in each of the weights.
