East Coweta and Lee middle school's boys soccer teams battled to a 1-1 tie on Monday at Lee during the fourth week of action in the Coweta County Middle School Athletic League.
Justin Sharp scored on an assist from Jairo Ruiz as Lee remained unbeaten on the season at 3-0-1 and in a share of the lead with Madras in the CCMSAL standings with 10 points. East Coweta's Justin Cooper also scored on an assist from teammate Cole Antley.
John Spavelko made nine saves in goal for Lee.
IN OTHER BOYS GAMES ON MONDAY:
MADRAS 4, ARNALL 1: At Madras, Giovanni Perez scored three times and Jonathan Cortez had a pair of assists as the Eagles improved to 3-0-1 and moved into a first-place tie with Lee.
Kevin Cheng also scored for Madras and Quintavius Franklin and Josue Araya had assists.
Arnall's goal was scored by Moises Escobar on an assist from Todd Davis. The Knights fell to 0-2-1 on the season.
EVANS 0, SMOKEY ROAD 0: Both teams picked up their first point of the season.
GIRLS
LEE 7, EAST COWETA 0: The Timberwolves remained unbeaten, improving to 4-0 as Serenity Waters, Mackenzie Crenshaw and Nikki Brandley each scored a pair of goals.
Taylor Hendrix added a goal and an assist in the victory. Anna Lauzon had a pair of assists and Waters, Raven Rose and Lynnsey Danford also assisted on Timberwolves goals.
Cheyenne Balliew, Raye Sutton and Emily Easterwood combined on the shutout in goal.
Madras 1, Arnall 1: The Eagles (3-0-1) stayed unbeaten despite a hard-fought effort from Arnall (1-1-2), which got its goal from Brittany Deloach. Anna Lawrence scored for Madras. Leanne Burgess had two saves for Arnall.
Evans 0, Smokey Road 0: Evans moved its record to 1-2-1 while Smokey Road (0-3-1) picked up its first point of the season.
