Bronze medal effort caps local run

The Quintessentinals youth track team wrapped up a solid week at the AAU Junior Olympics in Des Moines with Dylan Faulkner adding to the team’s medal count.

Faulkner, earned a bronze medal Saturday in the 10-year-old javelin throw with a distance of 91-6.

Teammate Jaxson Smoak also had a solid performance in the same event, finishing 14th with a throw of 66-1.

?Samuel Quinn finished 10th for the local track team in the 9-year-old high jump with a top height of 3-4.

The Quintessentinals finished this year’s event with three gold medals, three silvers, one bronze and two coppers.
