East Coweta splits matches with Carrollton

East Coweta’s girls soccer team continued to gain momentum on Tuesday heading toward next week’s annual Coweta Cup tournament with rivals Newnan and Northgate.

The Lady Indians dominated Carrollton in a 9-1 non-region victory on the road.

Nicole Brandley scored four times and senior teammate Serenity Waters added a pair to go with three assists in a rout.

Carrollton’s boys held off East Coweta 3-2 while handing the Indians another tough one-goal loss despite a pair of goals from Austin Cosby on assists from Justin Sharpe.

The Indians have lost at least six one-goal games this season.

East Coweta’s girls continued to put score goals at will while coming off Friday’s 10-0 rout over Fayette County.

Against Carrollton, junior Lynnsey Danford assisted on two of the Lady Indians tallies. Senior Anna Lauzon had a goal and an assist and Tara Federico and Kellsey Weaver also scored in the victory.

Ashton Rohrschnieder and Morgan Haase also had assists for East Coweta’s girls.
