Vikings end season

The Northgate boys basketball team ended its season Saturday, falling to Forest Park 50-39 in a Region-4AAAAA play-in game at Whitewater.

Northgate finishes the first season under the direction of head coach Maurice Smith with an 8-15 record.

In the first meeting between the Vikings and Panthers this year, Northgate hit a shot at the buzzer to win the contest 50-49, hitting a shot at the buzzer.

It was one of just three region games the squad won this year. The other region wins came in a 54-45 against Ola and a 57-53 win against Starr’s Mill.
