Middle School Basketball

Smokey Road remains unbeaten

The Smokey Road Middle School boys basketball (7-0) team stayed unbeaten with a 40-31 victory over Arnall in Coweta County Middle School Athletic League action.

Jarrell Rosser led the way for the Wildcats (7-0) with 12 points. Fernandez Jones paced all scorers, tossing in 18 points for the Knights (0-7).

EVANS 40, LEE 35: The Cougars (4-3) moved within a game of the Wolves for second place in the CCMSAL standings as Lee fell to 5-2.

Cedrick Hall led Evans with 17 points while P.J. Harris had 16 for Lee.

EAST COWETA 31, MADRAS 16: The Indians (4-3) remained tied with Evans for third place with the win over the Eagles (1-6).

GIRLS

SMOKEY ROAD 32, ARNALL 10: In a battle for first place in the CCMSAL, the Lady Wildcats moved even with the Lady Knights as both teams now sit at 5-2 overall.

Erin Ladd finished with 16 points for Smokey Road and teammate Maxy Gates added 8. Aubrey Colton led Arnall with 4 points.

MADRAS 24, EAST COWETA 16. The Lady Eagles improved to 3-4 behind Charla Echols’ team-high 10 points. The Lady Indians fell to 1-6.

EVANS 19, LEE 16: The Lady Cougars stayed in the hunt for first place while remaining one game behind both Smokey Road and Arnall in the loss column at 4-3. Janyah Stargell led Evans with 9 points while Lee’s Aja Sparks had a game-high 10.
