No. 1 seed Madras completes perfect season

Kyle McClaren passed for over 300 yards and three touchdowns and Romir Fowler and Dominick Rados led a strong defensive effort as the Madras remained undefeated on Tuesday with a 25-14 victory over Arnall at home while clinching the top seed in this year's Coweta County Middle School Athletic League playoffs.

Both the Eagles and second-place Lee, which shut out East Coweta Middle 30-0 on Tuesday to lock up the No. 2 seed, will receive first-round byes next week.

Lee finished the regular season at 4-1, losing its only game to Madras.

East Coweta (3-2) held on for the third place and will host sixth-seeded Arnall (0-5) in one first-round game next Wednesday. The other will pit a late-charging Smokey Road lineup at 2-3 at home against Evans (1-4).

It'll be the second consecutive game between the fourthseeded Wildcats and fifthseeded Cougars. Smokey Road held on for an 8-6 win over Evans on Tuesday, also at Smokey Road, by way of Desmond Blacksher's game-deciding two-point conversion run.

Defending CCMSAL champion Madras, meanwhile, wrapped up a perfect regular season by getting contributions throughout the lineup in its 25-14 win over Arnall. McClaren's three touchdown throws went to three players - Will Horne, Nick Carter and Levi Robinson - each of whom finished with at least 50 yards receiving.

Robinson led the way with 76 and a touchdown while Carter added 73 to go with his score.

An Eagles' defense that was led in tackles by Fowler and added an interception by Rados held Arnall scoreless until late in the third quarter when the Knights got on the scoreboard following a 30-yard run by C.J. Powell. Blake McMahan completed a pass to Juan Calipolitti for the two-point conversion.

Powell added Arnall's final touchdown on a 20-yard run in the fourth quarter, with McMahan and Calipolitti again connecting on the ensuing twopoint conversion. Lee Middle closed out the regular season with at least its third shutout of the season after holding both Arnall and Smokey Road scoreless previously. The Wolves received all the offense they needed with a pair of first-quarter touchdowns.

Joshua Ma rtin opened the scoring for Lee at Garland Shoemake Stadium on a 30-yard run before quarterback Christian Reid broke free for a 15-yard score of his own for an early 12-0 lead.

The Wolves tacked on 12 more points before halftime. Reid added a 35-yard scoring pass to P.J. Harris and Joshua Russell's score from the goalline made it 24-0 at the break.

Jaylen Ingram capped off the victory for Lee on a 25-yard run late in the fourth quarter.

Smokey Road and Evans were all but locked into fourth and fifth place heading into Tuesday, with home field mostly on the line during Tuesday's initial meeting between schools. The Wildcats received a 7-yard touchdown from T.J. Portress and Evans got one from Jaquez Walker, with the difference between the pair coming from Blacksher's twopoint run.
