Madras undefeated after win over Smokey Road

Defending champion Madras remained the only remaining unbeaten team in the Coweta County Middle School Athletic League on Tuesday by defeating Smokey Road 26-14 to improve to 4-0 this season.

Both teams faced each other in last year's CCMSAL championship game. Kyle McClaren threw for three touchdowns for the Eagles, two of them going to Levi Robinson, who finished with over 100-yards receiving. Omar Bringas hauled in McClaren's other scoring throw from 40-yards out.

Madras running back Nick Carter added a 20-yard touchdown run in the victory, which kept the Eagles a game ahead of Lee and East Coweta after each improved to 3-1 with respective victories on Tuesday.

Lee shut out Arnall 44-0 behind scores from Chris Reid and Joshua Russell. The Knights fell to 0-4 this season.

East Coweta, meanwhile, held of Evans 29-16 behind a pair of touchdown passes from Bailey Psathas to Deandre Brinkley. Psathas also ran for a touchdown in the victory.

Damion Hard added East Coweta's other score on a rush while Damarcus Fowler added a pair of two-point conversions. Kendall Kellum also added her first extra-point of the season for the Indians.

Evans (1-3) picked a touchdown from Jaquez Walker on a run in addition to his pair of two-point conversion. The Cougars' final score came on a pass from Hamilton Schubert to A.J. Alford.

Next Tuesday's games include Evans traveling to Smokey Road (1-3), Madras hosting Arnall and East Coweta facing Lee at ECHS' Garland Shoemake Stadium.
