Prep Soccer: Heritage School soccer teams sweep ArlingtonFrom Staff Reports
Mission (almost) accomplished.
A week ago, Heritage School head girls' soccer coach Ron Rineer set an objective of seeing his Lady Hawks push through their first five games of the season without allowing a goal.
Heritage School jumped out to a 6-0 lead and gave up a meaningless goal in the second half — the only one it has yielded so far this season — en route to a 8-1 victory over Arlington Christian on Friday.
The Lady Hawks were coming off wins over Dominion Christian (15-0) and Trinity (8-0) this week.
Sara Brillanti scored twice and junior Ansley Dieckmann and freshman Kate Everett chimed in with two assists apiece as the Lady Hawks improved to 5-0 heading into Tuesday’s showdown at Holy Spirit.
“Things will get much tougher the next two weeks,” Rineer hinted.
Dieckmann added a goal while finishing with three points and teammates Phebe Warren and Gina Brillanti each had a goal and an assist in the victory.
Also scoring in the win were sophomore Emma Martin and eighth graders Catherine Heindel and Lou Pfundt.
The Hawks, meanwhile, bounced back from Thursday’s Region 1-AAA loss to Trinity Christian by defeating Arlington 3-1.
Daniel Martin, Thomas Gruber and Victor Van Bremeesch scored for Heritage School.
