It looked like the Heritage School baseball team was going to sneak out of Loganville with their perfect record intact.
Leading 4-1 heading into the sixth inning, the Hawks were in control of their Region 1-AAA opener, until control problems got the best of them.
Loganville Christian took advantage, scoring four times on four walks, and a fielder’s choice despite just one hit.
The loss dropped Heritage School to 6-1 overall and 0-1 in the region.
Heritage School also hurt itself in the loss by leaving nine runners on base.
The Hawks broke a scoreless tie in the top of the fifth inning as four runs crossed the plate. Luke Crook and Joe Bonner each had RBIs to start the fourth. Tyler Henson also had a double in the inning to drive in two runs.
Henson and Tyler Nix led the offensive effort of the Hawks with two hits each.
Luke Smith had a solid outing from the mound for Heritage School pitching four shutout innings and giving up just two hits.
