Trinity Christian splits games with Griffin Christian

Sara Bryan and Ashley Caldwell each had a double-double to lead Trinity Christian’s girls basketball team its first victory of the early season on Friday.
Bryan had 19 points and added 15 rebounds and Caldwell chimed in with 18 and 12, respectively, as the Lady Lions evened their record to 1-1 with a 54-29 win over former region foe Griffin Christian on the road.
Both players came within just a few steals of finishing with triple-doubles. Bryan had eight and Caldwell seven in the effort. Serena Eller added four points for Trinity, which hosts powerhouse Arlington Christian on Tuesday at home.
BOYS – GRIFFIN CHRISTIAN 78, TRINITY CHRISTIAN 54
The Lions were forced to play catch-up after falling behind 17-7 after one quarter.
Dee Snelling lead Trinity Christian with 14 points and Spencer Bryan added 10 in the loss.
The Lions are now 1-1 on the season.
