MS Football: Trinity Christian to face Harvester for title

The Trinity Christian Middle School football team is just one victory away from capturing a Metro Area Christian Athletic Conference title.
Trinity Christian set up its showdown with Harvester Christian in the title game next week with a 36-6 win over Young Americans Christian School in Conyers.
The win by the Lions set up a rematch with Harvester, the only team to beat them this season in this week’s championship. Trinity Christian (8-1) will host Harvester (8-1) on Thursday at East Coweta Middle School.
The Lions dominated the victory over Young Americans with a stellar performance by its defense. Trinity Christian set the tone for the game early in the contest when it stopped Young Americans on fourth and one early in the game.
Offensively, Jordan Flagg put Trinity Christian on the scoreboard with a 62-yard run, After the Lions forced Young Americans to punt, Trinity put together a 76-yard, six-play drive, capped by Ben Kritko’s 50-yard run.

Kritko was just warming up. In the second quarter, he added a 66-yard run to help the Lions to a 20-0 halftime lead.

Trinity Christian took advantage of good kickoff return to open the second half and after a couple of long runs, Josh Hess gave the team a 28-0 lead on a 40-yard run.

Andrew Lewis also got into the scoring act with his first touchdown of the season on a 6-yard scamper for the last score of the game.

Young Americans avoided the shutout with a late touchdown.
