The West Georgia Technical College’s women’s basketball program welcomes conference rivals Georgia Northwestern, Southern Crescent Tech and Middle Georgia Tech to Carrollton on Saturday for the first-ever “Hoops For Hope” Women’s Basketball Breast Cancer Awareness Jamboree.
The four-game event will take place on the campus at Oak Mountain Academy at 222 Cross Plains Road, Carrollton.
West Georgia Tech will meet Georgia Northwestern in the first game of the day at 9 a.m. Following that game, Southern Crescent will play Middle Georgia Tech. The two winners and losers will then play in games three and four, with the Golden Knights guaranteed a spot in the fourth and final game of the day whether they win or lose game one.
Immediately following the Hoops for Hope tournament, West Georgia Tech will celebrate its Homecoming as the defending Region 17 Champion WGTC men’s basketball team takes the floor for an intrasquad scrimmage. At halftime of the scrimmage, West Georgia Tech will present its Homecoming Court. The Homecoming festivities are scheduled to begin at approximately 3 p.m., or immediately following the Hoops for Hope jamboree.
