Prep Volleyball: Trinity Christian stays undefeated

Defending GISA state volleyball champions Trinity Christian remained undefeated on Tuesday, improving its record to 19-0 and 4-0 in Region 2-AAA with a sweep of The Heritage School on the road.
Trinity squeaked past the Lady Hawks 25-23 in game one before dominating the final pair, 25-7 and 25-11.
Ashton Bigler and Elissa Waldrop led the Lady Lions with eight kills apiece. Alex Huber finished with five kills while Mackenzie Coyle and Julie Smaltz added three and two, respectively.
Setter Micayla Patterson finished with 25 assists and Bigler and Huber led the defensive efforts with five digs apiece. Three others finished with four each.
Trinity Christian has dominated so far, losing just three games all season and none since Aug. 23 when the Lady Lions defeated Mount de Sales, 3-1. Trinity swept rival Calvary Christian in three games one match earlier on Aug. 21. The two programs meet again on Sept. 27 in Sharpsburg.
Trinity Christian next heads to Augusta Prep on Friday.
