Prep Football: Friday's pick

From Staff Reports
sports@newnan.com
After a below-.500 showing last week, only one local game is on the docket tonight among Coweta's 11-man football squads.
Last week, we were just 2-3. For the season, our record is 20-7 for a winning rate of 74 percent.
Northgate (2-3) at Whitewater (4-1)
It’s crunch time for the Northgate Vikings. After losing 23-0 to Union Grove on homecoming last week, Northgate moves into the heart of its subregion schedule with four straight games that will determine their playoff fate.
It’s a good bet Whitewater will have revenge on its mind too. A year ago, the Wildcats led Northgate by 17 points in the third quarter before falling 27-23. The very next week Whitewater lost to Griffin and stayed home from the playoffs despite a 7-3 record. Both teams would love nothing more than to win this game to get a leg up on rest of the subregion. WILDCATS 35, VIKINGS 28.
