Prep Softball: Northgate bounces back, drops Drew

Less than 24 hours after falling to top-ranked Whitewater, the Northgate Lady Vikings returned to their winning ways Thursday, defeating Drew 12-0 to help cap Senior Night.
Northgate put Drew away in four innings, scoring a run in the first and third innings, but exploding for five runs in the second and fourth innings.
Lady Viking pitcher Mckenzie Peace gave up just one it hit while striking out three.
Northgate pounded out 13 hits en route to the win.
Jenna Pealor's home run in the second helped open the offensive floodgates for the Lady Vikings (15-4, 8-1). She finished the game with two hits and two RBIs.
Mackenzie McCloud had three hits and drove in four runs. Emily Heath also drove in a pair of runs. Rachel Cook also had an RBI.
Northgate, Newnan and East Coweta resume play today during the first of two days of action at the annual Brookwood Tournament.
