The Northgate Lady Vikings finished Tuesday’s action with two wins and a loss in games played at Union Grove High School.
The Lady Vikings posted wins over Union Grove (25-14 and 25-19) and Forest Park (25-5 and 25-10), but lost to top-ranked Whitewater (25-12, 25-12).
Northgate, which is ranked fifth in the gasports.com Class AAAAA Coaches’ poll, improved its overall record to 20-10 and its Area 4-AAAAA record to 7-3.
Randee Harvel had 20 kills and Brittany Scarbrough 42 assists. Elle McCord had 23 assists. Scarbrough also had 8 aces.
Northgate gets back into action on Thursday at home on Senior Night as Sandy Creek and Locust Grove come to town.
A week ago, Northgate lost to East Coweta in the finals of the Coweta County Tournament. The Lady Vikings had won the county title seven straight years.
With a strong showing on Senior Night, head coach Matt Trucks is convinced his team’s season will be back on track.
“We are still looking for that signature win that is going to change the season around for us,” he said.”There are times, we are having trouble putting teams away. We just got to be more consistent.”
