Upward Soccer season has come to an end – but not without a celebration – at East Newnan Baptist Church.
Dr. Barry Crocker, pastor at Cumming Baptist Church, spoke to a group of more than 400 people at the celebration, and 25 accepted Christ.
“All the team members and coaches were recognized,” said East Newnan member June Harris.
“Every soccer participant received a free Upward Soccer ball, and the coaches received a gift certificate to Longhorn.”
After the ceremony everyone was invited to enjoy hamburgers or hot dogs on the grounds.
Teams “enjoyed lunch and fellowship together on the soccer field,” Harris said.
“Many of the players and parents” are already “looking to next year with anticipation,” Harris noted.
