St. Christopher Hellenic Orthodox Church in Peachtree City will be celebrating St. Basil’s Day on Jan. 12.
The celebration will be from 6-10 p.m., and the community is invited. There is no cost and the evening will feature both live and silent auctions of handmade Vasilopitas, live entertainment and family fun. Vasilopitas are St. Basil breads and cakes which have a coin baked inside for good luck in the New Year.
Participants are asked to bring a side dish for 6-8 to share and a large bottled soft drink or tea. All proceeds will benefit St. Basil Academy in Garrison N.Y. The academy is a home for children in need, sponsored by the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese.
