The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ five congregations in Coweta County are presenting a short program, “The Mormons Next Door,” on Thursday.
The program will be held at 7 p.m. at the local LDS building on Old Atlanta Highway. Among the prominent Mormons in American society are Stephen R. Covey, Gladys Knight, Mitt Romney, Jon Huntsman, Dale Murphy, Orrin Hatch, Glenn Beck, John Marriott, Donny and Marie Osmond and Steve Young. Many people are aware that actors Amy Adams, Katherine Heigl and Matthew Modine and dance stars Derek and Julianne Hough are Latter-day Saints.
Thursday’s program is to help local residents learn about local Mormons who may live next door to them.
There will be a brief presentation stating who Mormons are and how they interact in the community -- followed by a question and answer session.
Light refreshments will be served.
Visitors may tour the building or just visit with members afterward.
