Church fall festivals delight area children

A number of area churches held fall festivals or Trunk-or-Treat events around Halloween.
Andrews Chapel United Methodist Church at Roscoe had its annual pumpkin carving on Oct. 24. Winners were — Madison Lumpp, elementary; Jon Thomas Adcock, middle school; and James Furey, high school.
The church’s Fall Festival was held four days later at the Fletcher Farm in Roscoe. “There were inflatables and games for the children – hayrides, live music and lots of food,” church member Debra Tarleton said.
First Baptist Church of Moreland held Trunk-or-Treat on Oct. 26.
“Over 1,000 children came trick-or-treating in 67 trunks,” said Daniel Ausbun, pastor of the church.
Moreland United Methodist Church sold pumpkins, as did Hopewell United Methodist Church in Tyrone.
Christian City in Union City held its annual Pancake Breakfast and Griddle Gallop 5k Run on Oct. 27 as a fundraiser for its ministry to children.
